About Love is a song by Marina Diamandis, released under her current stage name 'MARINA'. It was written for the soundtrack of the Netflix movie, To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.[1]

Background[]

On the 7th of December, Clean Bandit member Jack Patterson, Marina's boyfriend at the time, uploaded a video of her singing in their home studio to his Instagram story.[2] Jack Patterson did the vocal production for this track.

Marina posted to Instagram:[3]

Hi. It’s me. I wrote a song especially for the @netflix movie To All The Boys: PS I Still Love You. It’s called ‘About Love’. Listen wherever you wanna listen. 💗

This indicates the song is an original song, and not a LOVE + FEAR outtake as some fans speculated.

A snippet of a demo was leaked on June 3, 2021, on DBREE[4].

Trivia[]

  • End of the Earth was originally written for a film soundtrack, making About Love the second known song Marina has produced for a film.[5]

[Verse 1]
Started in the strangest way
Didn't see it coming
Swept up in your hurricane
Wouldn't give it up for nothing
Now I'm all caught up in the highs and the lows
It's a shock to my system
I don't wanna run away so I stay

[Pre-Chorus]
My head gets messy when I try to hide
The things I love about you in my mind

[Chorus]
I don't really know a lot about love
A lot about love, a lot about love
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much
I don't really know a lot about love
A lot about love, a lot about love
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much (So much)
Feels so good, it hurts so much

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much

[Verse 2]
Think about the time it took for our paths to cross
Read me like an open book
I was found and lost
Now I'm all caught up in the highs and the lows
It's a shock to my system
I know that our love was fate, so I stay

[Pre-Chorus]
My head gets messy when I try to hide
The things I love about you in my mind

[Chorus]
I don't really know a lot about love
A lot about love, a lot about love
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much
I don't really know a lot about love
A lot about love, a lot about love
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
Oh-oh-oh, ooh-ooh-ooh
But you're in my head, you're in my blood
And it feels so good, it hurts so much
