Disconnect is a single by Clean Bandit, and Marina Diamandis, released by Clean Bandit and under her previous stage name 'Marina and the Diamonds'.
The song was written by Marina and Jack Patterson, and produced by him, Luke Patterson and Mark Ralph.
Background[]
On December 9, 2014, Marina posted to Instagram:[1]

On April 11, 2015, the song debuted at Clean Bandit's Coachella performance, with Marina joining them for the song.[2]
On June 1, 2016, Clean Bandit hosted an Q&A on Twitter in which Marina asked when the song would be released.[3]
Later that year, in an interview with Idolator, Clean Bandit explained the delays:[4]
❝ [Grace Chatto]: That song with Marina And The Diamonds is a really special song for us, but since we performed it live at Coachella we've been trying out different directions for the production. Now we're kind of thinking we might go back to the original, so there was no need for anyone to wait two years!
[Jack Patterson]: It's like maybe 30 different versions of it on my laptop. I think we've finished one, actually — I was working on it on the way [to New York] on the plane, so I think we're going to have a nice surprise for them soon. ❞
On June 23, 2017, Marina joined Clean Bandit during their set at Glastonbury Festival, and debuted the finished studio version. Upon introducing the song, Grace Chatto said:
❝ We're so excited right now, cause we're about to share with you a brand new song. We finished it last week and we released it today. It's a collaboration with one of the greatest artists of our generation. And she [Marina] actually wrote it together with Jack the first day that they met about two years ago. And we're so happy that it's finished now. ❞
Straight after the performance, Disconnect was released digitally as a single, just over two years after it was first performed.
