Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson (professionally known by her stage name Katy Perry), is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist, and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teen and released her debut studio album, Katy Hudson, in March 2001. She also recorded a second solo album which was never released.
The California Dreams Tour was the second concert tour by American pop singer Katy Perry in support of her third studio album Teenage Dream. Beginning in February 2011, the tour visited Europe, Australasia, Asia and the Americas. She posted on Facebook that the tour would be very "super girl power" heavy as vocalists Robyn, Yelle, MARINA, and Janelle Monae were scheduled to open her shows during the various legs.
