On April 24th, 2018, whilst in L.A. Marina posted an Instagram story with the caption "writing so many songs the past 6 months". In the background, you can faintly hear the demo of Life is Strange playing.[1]
A year later, Marina posted a preview of this song to her Instagram in anticipation of the album release.[2]

Life is Strange is about struggling with purpose,[3] Marina said about the song:[4]
❝ I wanted to get across that it is OK to feel uncertain. That uncertainty can feel ominous and awful and actually way worse than dealing with the Terrible Thing. ❞
