Philosopher My Arse is a song by Marina Diamandis, released under her previous stage name 'Marina and the Diamonds' on MySpace.
The song was written by Marina, and produced by an unknown collaborator.
Background[]
The song was first mentioned in MySpace comments in 2006.[2] Although an exact date is not specified by Rockabilly's timeline, Philosopher My Arse was presumably posted in July, similar to other songs from this time.
Troubled Mind, This Is L.A., Philosopher My Arse, China's Dolls and the original version of Plastic Rainbow were produced by an unknown collaborator in 2006. Unhappy with the progressive rock sound, Marina started producing her own music instead in 2007.[3]

Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
Your theories, your beliefs
And the way you preach for peace
It sounds like vomit to my ears
Woah, daddy likes to teach
Counts for the muttered words you like to speak
But it sounds like vomit to my ears
[Chorus]
Let me fall and kiss your feet
Everybody knows they're cleaner than your lips
I'm not easy to defeat
I know, I know when something's amiss
I know, I know when something's amiss
I know, I know when something's amiss
Something's amiss
[Verse 2]
Philosopher my ass
Your words leave your mouth pretty fast
And it sounds like vomit to my ears
I lie in the safety of your bed
Whilst Bob Marley goes straight to your head
How can you compare yourself to this man?
Your whole life's a scam
[Chorus]
So let me fall and kiss your feet
Everybody knows they're cleaner than your lips
I'm not easy to defeat
I know, I know when something's amiss
I know, I know when something's amiss
I know, I know when something's amiss
I think I know when something's amiss
[Bridge]
Don't, don't cheat me, don't you cheat me
Don't you think you can fucking lie to me, yeah
[Chorus]
'Cause I won't fall and kiss your feet
Everybody knows they're cleaner than your lips
I'm not easy to defeat
I know, I know when something's amiss
I know, I know when something's amiss
Ooh, I know, I know, I know when
Something's amiss, something's amiss
Something's amiss
